Although not a professional photographer, I have much experience in 35mm photography. That said, I own an older version of this unit (at least 30 years old), the overall design has changed very little. This unit is capable of rotating/flipping on its axis on a dime. It does not sway from the center an iota!!! You can place any camera, any size, in any direction, and this unit flips the camera perfectly on its center vertically or horizontally. Although most tripod heads are quite capable of doing the same, in most cases the camera somehow ends up leaning to a side, or hanging over the tripod. Not with this. This unit holds the camera perfectly centered on a 90 degree, square, on the tripod. In my opinion, this is a must have thing for anyone. It's well worth the expense.
