Customer Review: No hardware, no instructions. Awful installation experience.

Contrary to the description and photo (at the time of this writing), this is not the quick release version of the strap. Instead of metal fasteners, this one has a single plastic adjuster (one fewer than you need) sewn onto one end and has hemmed webbing at the other. Also, There are no instructions at all, certainly none telling you to reuse one of the adjusters from old strap you cut off the bag.
So you sit there, happy you have a 2nd Domke bag to refer to (but increasingly annoyed you ever bought the first one, let alone others), trying to replicate the path the strap is supposed to take. Every time you touch the old strap, in order to figure out how it was threaded through the bag's plastic loops, its 20 year old rubber grip strip continues flake off in hard rubber crumbs all over the place and in the bag and your gear (which is very likely the reason you're replacing the strap in the first place).
At some point, through trial and error and after referring to your other bag enough times, you'll hit upon the proper path and everything will be fine. But "simply thread the new one in" doesn't begin to describe the process, andin no way does it count as "instructions". Yes, it's like other friction-based camera straps; so if you're the kind of person who enjoys attaching those (and does it more than once every 5 years), you probably won't be as annoyed by this as I was.
I've seen the same "hardware and instructions included" line everywhere this strap is sold, so it's clearly coming from Domke/Tiffen rather than Amazon.
